Deposit
When you confirm your order a 10% deposit is required. This is held in the company solicitor’s trust account until you settle the purchase. Alternatively you can pay just $2000.00 (the same $2000 if you’ve paid that to secure your site) for a deposit bond from New Zealand Home Bonds Limited and then you pay the full purchase price when you settle the purchase. Purchasers of Hauraki Village homes own the home and the land on which it sits. So when they chose to sell they get the capital gains. This is not the case with “licence to occupy” retirement villages where the resident gets back only part of their purchase price less substantial refurbishment costs.
