Recreational vehicles (RV) include campervans, caravans and boats. Access/manoeuvring room is limited for larger house bus type RVs. Hauraki Village’s body corporate will have the right to refuse access for house truck or similar RVs out of keeping with the village character.
Parking
Hauraki Village welcomes RVs and includes RV parking next to each house. Other retirement villages do not allow RV vehicles – or limit them to a specific parking area away from the owner’s unit. The RV site next to the home becomes part of that homeowner’s property.
RV Size
The depth of each house site (up to 12m) will determine the size of RV which can be parked on each site so that the RV does not protrude beyond the front or back of the house or be visually intrusive to neighbours.
Lock-up Shed
An area to the rear of the RV parking can, depending upon RV size, be used to accommodate a lock up shed suitable for such things as sports, hobby and gardening paraphernalia.
Parking site & Privacy
The RV site next to the house will be approximately 4.5m wide from the house wall to a privacy fence. This will allow for parking and walk around access to the RV with narrow gardens each side. The RV parking area will be pebble filled pavers which provide a hard wearing vehicle surface. The privacy fence will be 1.8m high with additional height by trellising when there is need to obscure high windowed RVs.
Power Supply
A standard 10amp and a 16amp RV power supply will be provided for the RV park.
Permitted Use
RVs can be used as an additional room for quiet activities and occasional accommodation such as visitors for a weekend or a school holiday visit. Body Corporate rules will govern this use prohibiting permanent or semi permanent accommodation.
Community RV Facilities
There is provision in the Village plans to build a common on-site washdown & waste dumping facility next to a community picnic / BBQ area.
